I Convince Wood To Forget It Was A Tree

With chainsaws and chisels, power tools and patience, I transform fallen timber and stumps into lasting art.

Whether roughing it out with roaring blades, or finely shaping by hand, I give wood a second life.

There are stories in the grain.

My name’s Fred Acker.

Let me show you what happens when a tree refuses to be forgotten.

John Schneider Studios, in Holden Louisiana, had a little problem with this one…

It fell on their studio!

Creating good from bad, I was told to, “Make this work!”

Now, the old stump sits out in front proud as ever.

And get this…

This all started with a pocketknife...

...And because I didn’t really want to get a job.

After 25 years in the transportation business. Like many small business owners, I grew frustrated with systems that seem designed to work against you rather than for you.

So, I walked away.

Or, you can just Grab...

CARVING & COFFEE

This... Is where sawdust meets sunrise! Get your weekly jolt of chainsaw poetry, slow craft, and the quiet rebellion of turning trees into timeless stories.

I convince wood to forget it was a tree... you just get to enjoy the show.

Live a little!

I wouldn’t suggest Carving & Coffee if you just want to sit around at the beach all day.

However, if you’re into chainsaw carving, wood carving, whittling, saw milling (and other shenanigans)…

Well then, by all means, grab the good stuff.

And, the good stuff is just what we put into our Carving & Coffee.
